Hospice at Home is specialist care for people with life-limiting illnesses, helping them manage physical and any emotional distress in the comfort of their own home. It supports those who wish to spend their final days at home, ensuring dignity, comfort, and expert care.
Provided by the dedicated and experienced teams at the Macmillan Unit and Forest Holme Hospice, Hospice at Home offers personal care, symptom management, and emotional support for patients and their families.
Since 2022, we have been the only providers of Hospice at Home with hands-on expert clinical care in our community, caring for people across Christchurch, Bournemouth, Poole, and the surrounding areas. Each year, our teams support over 3,700 patients, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

We believe every person deserves to be treated with compassion, respect, and dignity right to the very end. Much like we do in our local hospices, our goal isn’t just to help people die peacefully, but to help them live fully, even in their last moments.
When someone you care about is facing a life-limiting illness, the weight of medical decisions can take over. That’s where we come in. Our Hospice at Home team takes care of the clinical side, so you can focus on what truly matters: being present, sharing memories, holding hands, and simply being a family again.
You matter because you are you. You matter to the last moment of your life, and we will do all we can, not only to help you die peacefully, but also to live until you die.
With your help we can continue to provide specialist care for those who wish to be at home during their final days. Your donation today will ensure this vital service remains available for those in our community who need it most.
The Macmillan Unit serving Christchurch, Bournemouth and surrounding areas, works in partnership with Forest Holme and University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust to deliver 24 hour care at the hospice and at home.

During her last few weeks, all of our 13 grandchildren were able to come and spend some time with her. Myself and all our five children were with her until the very end. This would not have been possible without the wonderful service you provide.
